Bellvue Colts travel light to face Young Glens.

"The team today dug deep and worked really hard with and without the ball, I cannot fault the grit and determination shown today and I am proud to be a part of their team"
- Ross Hynd - Head Coach

With the summer program of football winding down before the break it was a much changed Colts (Blue) team that travelled to Glenrothes on Sunday Morning. With Urquhart, Sim & O'Hare all unavailable for selection the team had to work hard in the morning heat.
SQUAD: Drugan (GK), Hynd, Wilson, McKenzie, Simpson

Young Glens started the match brightly creating a host of chances in the opening few exchanges with Drugan being called in to action several times. As the game progressed Colts started to settle and quickly adapted their play moving the ball quickly with Wilson, Hynd and Simpson coming close on a few occasions.

Young Glens continued to press their numerical advantage with rolling subs continuing throughout the first half allowing no time for the Colts to settle. Simpson finally got his reward following some quick counter attacking play just before the break. Half time was the first opportunity for the Colts to regroup and catch their breath. A change in formation and tactics was agreed and the Colts took to the field for the second half.

The Colts started the second half on the front foot with Simpson slotting home from close range after a fantastic sweeping move. Few mins later after some determined defending from Hynd at the back it was McKenzie's turn to find the net finishing off a fantastic passing move.

With the teams locked together and Young Glens taking advantage of their numbers making a host of changes the game opened up. The Colts had to dig deep with Drugan pulling of a number of last ditch saves and being the trigger point for a number of good counter attacks.

With only a few mins left on the clock the Colts got their breakthrough with a smart passing move down the left finding Wilson in space, Wilsons pass picked out Simpson who calmly slotted home for his hattrick.

The final whistle brought to an end a fantastic game of football and a well earned rest for the Colts having played the full match with no subs. Drugan was awarded the fair play award following his 2nd half clean sheet and heroics in goal for the Colts.
